Splanky Mondays

Pleased to announce a new online program for teenagers based on .b Mindfulness curriculum and tools for somatic resourcing!

From Monday 6 July to Monday 7 September 2026, 3.30pm AWST, 5.30pm AEST, 45 min of fun engaging sessions

This program includes 10 themes that support directing our attention to our experience as it unfolds with open-minded curiosity and acceptance. Sometimes worrying abut what has happened or might happen can overshadow the experience of life and bring preoccupied state full of chatter, anxious rumination or compulsive planning. Regular practice of directing our attention to right here, right now with open-minded curiosity and acceptance will increase a sense of calm, focus and ability to relate more empathically towards self and others.

The lessons include:

  1. Playing Attention - training the muscle of your mind

  2. Taming the Animal Mind - cultivating curiosity and kindness

  3. Recognising Worry - recognising how your mind plays tricks on you

  4. Being Here Now - from reacting to responding

  5. Moving Mindfully

  6. Stepping back - watching the thought traffic of your mind

  7. Befriending Difficult

  8. Taking In The Good - being present with your heart

  9. Pulling It All Together

Join me for a regular 45min meetup every Monday to set a weekly rhythm, improve study, wellbeing and relationships. And yes, ‘splanky’ IS a word. It’s a little bit jazzy as it was first used in 1957 for a song title on a Count Basie’s new album being an onomatopoetic reference to the sound of his piano playing style and having everything to do with easy swing, carefree melodicism and good humour. Urban dictionary describes ‘splanky’ as cool, fresh, chill, fun, funky, extra fly and it’s been my favourite word to describe all the fresh things us humans can create using old ingredients…
